Our beautiful sanctuary has survived the second major hurricane to hit the Nature Coast in the past two weeks! Thanks to our awesome staff and volunteers, we were able to move 600 birds into our evacuation buildings well in advance of Milton – all birds are safe, sound and accounted for!!
The priority – the safety of our birds and our people – has been achieved. But between Helene two weeks ago and Milton last night, we have a significant amount of debris that must be cleaned up, damage to fences that must be repaired, trees that have been or must be removed, and other unbudgeted storm-related expense that must be taken care of.
We will be busy putting the sanctuary back in order the next few weeks, and we are eternally grateful to our staff and volunteers who will be making that happen. You can help by making an extra donation via our website (www.flabirdsanctuary.org) or mailing a check today to meet the costs of recovery – thank you in advance for your love!
Please join us with continued prayers for the many people throughout the southeastern states who still suffer as a result of Hurricane Helene and/or who are now impacted by Milton. And thank you for your continued trustthat we are doing what’s possible to keep our 850+ birds safe, secure and loved.
With warmest regards, Team FEBS!
