Florida Exotic Bird Sanctuary was honored tonight by a Tampa Bay realty company with a unique business ethic: It donates a portion of each commission to a non-profit of the client’s choice. FEBS was among the organizations receiving an award at the realtor’s April 28 “Pay It Forward” celebration at the Stageworks Theatre in Tampa.
Live Well Team of Tampa Bay, LLC was founded in 2018 by realtors Mary Jane and James Rickles. Live Well has reimagined the realty profession via a unique ethic: It donates a portion of each sales commission to a non-profit organization of the client’s choice. By partnering in this way, Live Well and its clients are able to “…help charities serve more people, …save more animals, and advocate for a better community for all.”
Kristen and Todd McPherson recently found a new, better suited home in the Tampa Bay area with the aid of the Live Well Team. Kristen and Todd are no strangers to “bird life” – they have nine parrot companions of their own! They selected FEBS as the beneficiary of their directed donation by reputation in the Nature Coast area. Their generosity and dedication to animal welfare are highlighted by the fact that they matched the Live Well donation to FEBS – the added gift is greatly appreciated!
We at Florida Exotic Bird Sanctuary are grateful that the McPherson’s selected us as their non-profit of choice for the directed donation in their name, as well as for their matching gift; we welcome them to the Friends of FEBS family and look forward to a lasting relationship. And we applaud Live Well Team of Tampa Bay for its “pay it forward” program that uplifts the non-profits serving this community; we encourage our followers to contact Live Well the next time they or a relative/friend plans to buy or sell a home in the Tampa Bay area.
