Happy Friday Friends of FEBS!

Recently, we were blessed to be a recipient of an Eagle Scout Project. Evan Hernandez with Troup #33 from Land O’ Lakes came to us and asked if there was a project he could do. We immediately thought Butterfly Garden. Mainly for Education but also a place where visitors can go in with the Butterflies and after their wings dried, release them on the butterfly approved flowering plants and bushes outside. Evan and his family, friends and the other Eagle Scouts came out 3 Saturdays in a row and put this beautiful Oasis of Serenity together!
Evan did all the planning, drawing, fundraising, project lists, bought all material and did all the labor, FEBS Manager, Tony helped as well! Thanks Tony for working your day off for 3 weeks!

So. as best laid plans go, a new twist on how to better utilize this Aviary occurred to us. Rather than making this beautiful aviary into a butterfly garden, we are thrilled that it is currently occupied by our colony of 23 finches, whom have been with us a couple years but in a smaller flight. Very happy finches! Evan and his team switched gears easily with us and after a couple minor changes this Aviary is up and running! Thank you all greatly, what a wonderful community experience! Can’t wait to see your badge!
